We would be very pleased to be involved in your wedding celebrations.
The clergy of the parish can provide a number of options for your wedding service, and visiting Anglican clergy are also welcome to perform the ceremony. Permission for ministers of other denominations to officiate can also be sought.
Weddings are great fun & one of life's special occasions. But the wedding is over at the end of the day, and the marriage begins! The sobering fact is that despite the fine feelings with which the vows are made, 50% of current NZ marriages do not last the test of time. We ask all couples to do a marriage preparation course to work on their relationship, and a number of options are available.
The churches at St Michaels in Henderson & at St Marks in Swanson are both able to be used for weddings. St Michaels seats up to 330, St Marks 60. The hall at St Marks can be used for small receptions, with space for 40 guests. At St Michaels the hall can cater for 75 seated & 150 buffet. Please enquire for rates.
If you want to book a wedding, we will need to meet initially to plan dates & a preparation course. We will then need to meet a second time to plan the ceremony in detail, and schedule a practice with the bridal party immediately before the big day.
